At Grasmere Primary School we take pride in our school grounds and ensure that we are working to care for and to minimise our impact on our local environment.

Grasmere Primary School is registered with Resource Smart schools, a program which aims to embed sustainability across the school facilities, community and curriculum.

Our school is working towards achieving our 5-star sustainability certification which focuses on biodiversity, energy, waste and water.

Student involvement is key to the success of any sustainability programs that are implemented. At Grasmere our upper years students have the opportunity to be sustainability leaders and run an action group which includes taking care of the sensory and veggie gardens, working with staff to achieve sustainability accreditation and teaching their peers about how to be “waste warriors”.

Grasmere actively pursues grants to supplement the resourcing of the sustainability program.
